Fragrance lovers now have another reason to get their hands on the popular aquatic-citrus blends Acqua di Gio and Acqua di Gioia. In support of Giorgio Armani’s Acqua for Life Challenge, the brand recently released its limited edition versions of the fragrances to raise awareness for the need for clean drinking water in impoverished countries.
The Armani Group first partnered with Green Cross International (GCI) in 2011 for its first Acqua for Life Challenge. Its goal is to encourage public awareness of environmental and developmental problems in poor countries, especially those concerning water safety and scarcity. The Armani Group works alongside GCI to make safe, clean water available to children and their communities in poverty-stricken nations. The first Acqua for Life Challenge focused on Ghana, where GCI built water systems that are able to provide at least 40 million litres of safe drinking water each year. This year’s challenge will continue to bring water to Ghana, and will now be helping out in Bolivia as well – a country that normally endures a six to eight-month month dry spell every year. There, GCI will build another water collection and distribution system to bring 40 million litres of clean water annually to the Bolivian people.
This new limited edition versions of Acqua for Life Acqua di Gio ($99 for 100ml) and Acqua di Gioia ($70 for 50ml) are now available at drug and department stores nationwide. To learn more about The Acqua for Life Challenge, visit www.acquaforlifechallenge.org.
