Esteemed makeup artist Rebecca Restrepo will be joining Elizabeth Arden as the brand’s global makeup artist. The native New Yorker with Columbian heritage started out studying painting at the School of Visual Arts, and Fashion at FIT. She soon started working behind the counters of MAC and Lancôme, where she discovered makeup art — the perfect combination of her two loves. After landing a job assisting Laura Mercier, Restrepo became widely recognized for her talents and ability to bring high-fashion beauty trends to everyday women.
Today, Restrepo’s resume is nothing short of impressive, boasting a roster of world-renowned clients, from celebrities to iconic brands and publications. Her handiwork has been shot by iconic photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Annie Leibovitz and Herb Ritts, and featured on the pages of American Vogue, W and Vanity Fair. Among the famous faces she has beautified are Georgia May Jagger, Michelle Obama, and A-List actresses including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lawrence.
As Elizabeth Arden’s global makeup artist, Restrepo will be the company’s spokesperson and brand ambassador. She will lead the brand’s team of makeup artists, work on photoshoots and create looks for makeup tutorials. Restrepo will also act as the company’s creative advisor on trend forecasting and beauty consultant training. “I’m honoured to join the Elizabeth Arden family. The legacy of Elizabeth Arden – both the woman and the brand – is inspiring,” said Restrepo. “As an artist, it is exciting to partner with a brand that not only makes quality products, but also shares my passion for making beauty accessible to all women.”
