Burberry Beauty an early hit at Holt Renfrew
The staff couldn’t even get the products on the shelves without enthusiastic Burberry fans snapping them up. It fact, for much of the afternoon, shoppers were buying products out of cardboard shopping boxes. But that is the level of anticipation fans have for Burberry’s new luxury beauty collection that brings Christopher Bailey’s vision of modern beauty to life. What’s unique is that Bailey has launched an extensive collection all at once – in hues that are subdued and wearable. You won’t find electric hues here. What you will find are luxurious formulas made in Italy that cover foundation, skin, eyes and lips. The prices range from $30 for a lip definer to $66 for a sheer foundation.
“I really started thinking about Burberry makeup when we were working on the show several years ago. I was looking at all the different ways the Burberry girl expressed herself and it was the only element missing when you circled her world and her attitude,” says Bailey. ”Burberry reflects the natural style and relaxed attitude of our iconic trench coat capturing the effortless elegance and individuality of the Burberry girl.”
The packaging is particularly well-done incorporating the Burberry check in a subtle tone-on-tone manner. Each product is custom designed with an innovative soft magnetic closure.
