As we gear up for the 2016 Canadian Fragrance Awards, get to know our panel of expert judges.
What’s your all-time favourite fragrance? There was the L’Eau d’Issey flanker from summer 2010 that I loved till the last limited-edition drop, and the entire Jardin collection from Hermès seems like it was mixed just for me—but I think my scent soulmate is still out there.
What’s your best new find? I can’t get enough of last year’s Hermès Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. I’m a sucker for any fresh, green fragrance, and this one’s citrus note of kumquat adds the zing I crave.
How many bottles are in your fragrance collection? In a very non-beauty-editor way, I try to keep only one fragrance bottle going at a time. I find a scent I like, use it daily until it’s done, and then move on to something new—a weird way of cataloguing different periods of my life, I guess, and keeping morning decisions to a minimum.
What’s your signature spritz style? I spritz about a foot over my head and wait for the cloud to hit my hair. This may sound like some sort of peaceful, magical moment, but really, my eyes are squeezed closed and I awkwardly thrust my chest out so the mist hits my décolletage, too.
