Yves Saint Laurent Sparkle Clash Collection

To simplify holiday party prep, YSL creative director of makeup Lloyd Simmonds cherry-picked fun, versatile shades for the season, like dazzling golds and shimmering pinks. Four collectible items are dressed in sparkles: a multi-use palette packing eyeshadows, highlighter and lip colour; reusable crystal eyeliner strips; six shades of Rouge Pur Couture lipstick; and the classic Touche Éclat. $31–$100 each, at Hudson’s Bay, Nordstrom, Sephora and Holt Renfrew

Guerlain Shalimar Holiday Make-Up Collection by Natalia Vodianova

Co-created by model and Guerlain muse Natalia Vodianova, this limited-edition range pays homage to Shalimar, the fragrance she’s fronted since 2008. Reminiscent of the scent’s bottle, elements of gold and sapphire are woven throughout the opulent collection. $42–$105 each, at Guerlain counters

Chanel Collection Libre Synthetic de Chanel

Lucia Pica, Chanel’s global creative makeup and colour designer, reimagines the tones and textures of urban materials into this limited-edition holiday collection. A five-pan eyeshadow palette is filled with moody greys evocative of a concrete cityscape, while cheerful pinks and reds break up the structural tones for a pop of colour on lips and cheeks. A trio of nail polishes recreate downtown finishes: ultra-reflective (like rain-slicked buildings), neon (like signage) and rubber. $32–$115 each, at Chanel counters

Nars Sarah Moon Holiday Colour Collection

François Nars joined forces with photographer Sarah Moon for this limited-edition range, inspired by the futuristic flick Metropolis. Alongside new shades of blush, shadow and liner, it introduces the intensely pigmented Moon Matte Lipstick, and gift sets dressed in Moon’s ethereal imagery. $25–$150 each, at Sephora, Hudson’s Bay, Holt Renfrew, Nordstrom and Murale

Dior Splendor Holiday Collection

Inspired by sequins, this limited-edition range combines matte and satin textures with touches of gold, champagne, fuchsia and red for a festive feel. The 16-piece collection also introduces four vibrant shades of Diorific Matte Fluid, a powdery liquid for lips and cheeks, alongside eyeshadows, nail polish and matte lipstick. $34–$73 each, at Dior counters
