Previously hard-to-get Parisian beauty brand Paul & Joe is now expanding its reach in Canada, with its colour cosmetics, skincare and more launching at select Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques (it will be stocked in nine by September). Created by fashion designer Sophie Mechaly in 2002 as a complement to her mens- and womenswear lines of the same name, the label is known for its vintage-inspired, chrysanthemum-adorned packaging, and for the luminous finish its products impart on the skin (thanks to its proprietary “secret d’or” ingredient, a champagne-gold frost). It’s a wonder it took this long to establish a major Canadian presence—Craig-Ryan French, the brand’s artistic beauty director and global makeup artist for more than a decade, is a Toronto local. —Jennifer Masseau
