Consonant, the all-natural skincare brand hailing from Toronto, has just expanded its distribution, arriving on Sephora.ca early this month. Bill Baker, a former advertising and brand management pro who founded the company in 2009 after curing his chronic case of dermatitis with a switch to 100 percent natural skincare, said in an official statement that this new partnership reflects growing consumer demand for green products that deliver results.
Sephora already carries all-natural lines such as Josie Maran, Nude Skincare, Caudalie, Ren and Tata Harper. The retailer has also long acted as an incubator for indie brands, and in August, launched the Scouted by Sephora program to put even more focus on emerging/buzz-worthy niche labels.
To mark its arrival at the e-comm behemoth, Consonant has released the new, travel-friendly HydrGasm kit, highlighting three hit products: HydrExtreme Extreme Hydration Booster, Ultra Moisturizing Organic Face Cream and The Perfect Sunscreen. Although the brand is not carried at brick-and-mortar Sephoras yet, if the online sales prove a success, Consonant anticipates moving onto the retailer’s shelves in the months to come.
For now, consumers can also shop the collection on Consonant’s own site or at its two Toronto locations, as well as a handful of independent beauty boutiques throughout Canada and the United States.
Expect to see more launches—currently in the late stages of product testing—from the brand this spring.
