As of this week, Canadians can shop Lush Cosmetics on their iOS/Android devices. The beauty brand, best known for fragrant bath bombs, has launched its mobile app in an effort to bridge the gap between the retail and digital experience for consumers.
It’s an increasingly important goal within the beauty industry: earlier this year, Mintel research reported that “smartphones are the preferred device used to purchase cosmetics (22 percent), the only category surveyed in which consumers were most likely to shop via smartphone.”
Beyond the new app’s e-commerce capabilities and store finder, it’s loaded with editorial-style “Stories,” giving consumers a sense of Lush’s ethics. (Understanding a brand’s social values is considered important for millennials). Finally, the “#Social” section pulls up the latest Instagrammed product posts from local Lush stores and fans.
