Test Drive: La Roche Posay Micellar Water
The product
La Roche Posay Micellar Water
The promise
Turns out not all sensitive skin was created equal. La Roche Posay has developed new micellar waters to address the specific needs of the three main types of sensitive skin -- reactive, oily and sensitive. The offerings are formulated with differing levels of glycerin to gently slide across the skin, removing all traces of makeup without causing dryness or irritation.
The play-by-play
I was sceptical that a cotton pad and micellar water could remove my eye makeup as well as a cream cleanser and my rather aggressive massage action, but La Roche Posay product manager, Justeena Gill who is also a fan of black liquid liner, assured me that it works. “Saturate a cotton pad with the micellar water to avoid unnecessary rubbing,” she advised. So that night, I stood in front of the mirror assessing the results. Indeed, with a little blinking onto the pad, pushing the saturated cotton up against my eyelashes (the product is so gentle it didn’t sting whatsoever) all traces of black were eliminated. And that post-face-washing tightness that leaves you afraid to smile after washing your face is gone for good, too. You could almost call it holy water.
