Trend to Try: Holo Glam

Popularized by the Y2K aesthetic and Pinterest’s 2025 “aura makeup” trend, holographic eye makeup has been spotted everywhere lately, including on celebs like Sabrina Carpenter, Precious Lee and countless influencers. The look is very spring-friendly, says celebrity makeup artist Nate Palacios. “We are beginning to pull inspiration from natural elements around us and that includes nods to the aquatic world.”To get this look, start with an eyeshadow primer. For minimal makeup wearers, Palacios suggests trying an icy metallic blue in the inner corner of the eye. Those who are more adventurous can sweep the same metallic colour along the lower lash line for a dreamy look. “A glowy blush around the perimeter of the face and swept onto the eyelid (rather than the apples of the cheeks) gives an ethereal mermaid-like cheek,” she adds. To amplify the colour and finish, use a brush to pick up the metallic product first and then spritz a bit of setting spray on it.
