Today’s facial mists are a far cry from the water-in-a-can aerosols of yore. Providing the same burst of freshness, they now tout a cocktail of ingredients and extra benefits, like brightening, toning and calming skin. Here, four new mists with benefits:
DIOR ONE ESSENTIAL MIST-LOTION

This purifying mist promises to draw pollutants out of the upper and deeper layers of the skin with hibiscus extract, said to speed up the cell-recycling process. It also provides a toner-like effect by restoring skin’s pH balance to 5.5. For the best brightening results, it should be sprayed onto a cleansed face, and then massaged over skin with a cotton pad.
OLE HENRIKSEN FACIAL WATERS
$28 each, at Sephora
Danish spa savant Ole Henriksen’s new trio of nutrient-enriched mists offers targeted benefits. Suitable for all skin types, Truth Facial Water contains energizing ingredients like vitamin C, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and rose hip seed oil for a boost of radiance. For dry or sensitive/reactive faces, Nurture Me soothes using cucumber, chamomile and ginseng extracts. Finally, for combination types, Grease Relief helps reduce oil and re-balance skin with a blend of purifying botanicals and extracts such as eucalyptus, lactic acid and golden seal.
BLISS TRIPLE OXYGEN RADIANCE RESTORING MIST

Inspired by Bliss Spa’s Triple Oxygen Facial (the cult-favourite service that concludes with a vitaminized oxygen spray), this mist takes a three-pronged approach to restoring radiance. Vitamin C brightens and evens skin tone; cruciferous extract stimulates protein production; and an exclusive complex featuring soy proteins converts free radicals into oxygen. A dose of hyaluronic acid helps skin retain moisture for a plumped-up effect.
SHISEIDO IBUKI QUICK FIX MIST

A new addition to Shiseido’s millennial-targeted Ibuki line, this cooling gel-mist hybrid is designed to fight signs of daytime fatigued skin, including shine. A herbal extract hydrates while two complexes freshen, smooth and support skin’s natural moisture.
LANEIGE BRIGHTENING SPARKLING WATER CAPSULE MIST
$36, available June at Sephora
AmorePacific-owned Laneige made a splash when it arrived in Canada late last year, and its latest offerings include a next-level mist—fitting for a brand that’s all about deep hydration. Made with 47 percent sparkling water, the carbonation is said to “massage” skin, boosting circulation. The brightening formula is also enriched with AHAs from sugar cane, orange and lemon to stimulate skin-cell turnover.
