Bite Beauty to Open Lip Lab in Toronto
Born and based in Toronto, Bite Beauty specializes in handmade lippies in on-trend shades using natural, food-grade ingredients. Now, following the popularity of its bespoke Lip Lab in New York, the company will bring the same concept home: the 2,800-square-foot, two-level Toronto space (678 Queen Street West) is slated to open at the beginning of September.
While the brand’s ready-to-wear lines are carried at Sephora, the Lip Lab will offer two levels of customization: an à la carte lipstick, mixed from a library of 180 shade options; or a “do it from scratch” service, by appointment.
“We’re really focused on the experience, even over the product,” says Bite founder Susanne Langmuir, noting that the second service includes an hour-long consultation, and the consumer’s initials engraved on the lipstick for an extra personal touch. Beauty buffs eager to craft their own signature hue, match a bridesmaid dress or dupe a discontinued shade will no doubt flock.
