Pro Makeup Brand Inglot Grows Retail Presence in Canada

Poland-based colour cosmetics manufacturer Inglot is expanding its number of retail locations in Canada. Since 2014, the company has had a stand-alone store in downtown Toronto (19 Dundas Square), adjacent to the high-traffic CF Toronto Eaton Centre, and on October 22 it opened a kiosk in CF Sherway Gardens, also in Toronto.

A second kiosk is set to open in Markham’s CF Markville Mall on November 5. Additionally, new locations are being secured in Hamilton and London, Ont., as Inglot prepares to expand further in 2017.

Founded by chemist Wojciech Inglot more than 30 years ago, Inglot opened its first-ever franchise store in Montreal (now closed), back in 2006. The budget-friendly beauty products are currently carried in more than 600 shops worldwide, including Macy’s stateside.

Beyond its vast array of high-pigment makeup, the brand is known for its O2M Breathable Nail Enamel, one of its top-selling innovations. Originally created to help keep nails healthy by allowing water and oxygen to pass through, the porous lacquer reportedly went viral when it was embraced by Muslim women seeking an alternative to traditional polish (the latter is thought to interfere with wudu, the pre-prayer ritual of washing with water).
