Meet Marian Bendeth, Global Fragrance Expert and Owner of Sixth Scents
What’s your all-time favourite fragrance? I don’t have just one, never could since the age of 5. I have hundreds based on my moods, my fashion sense and how I want to feel.
What’s your best new find? There isn’t just one. I do love to smell a well-blended fragrance that is clever and seamless, but takes me on a journey and makes my heart beat a bit faster. If a fragrance has nuance, character and is well made with quality ingredients, I am always impressed.
How many bottles are in your fragrance collection? My personal collection is immense. I consult with over 5,000 prestige, luxe and niche brands, so there is a lot to smell and test.
What’s your signature spritz style? I wake up to a certain mood and select the fragrance before I dress. In fact, that scent will inspire the colours and fabrics I want to complement it with. I spray my neck and arms at least an inch away and allow to dry off. More importantly, I go back to it at least once every two hours to remind myself why I loved it so much when I received it initially.
