What’s your all-time favourite fragrance? Kiehl’s Original Musk Eau de Toilette. Unfortunately I don’t have some incredible discovery story—I ended up coming across it at work when it was sent to me along with some other new Kiehl’s products. I think I keep coming back to it, firstly because I really love how it smells, but also because the scent surprised me, and continues to do so. I normally don’t gravitate to musky fragrances, but something with this one resonates with me. Maybe it’s the winning mix of citrus and floral, grounded by the headier musk.

What’s your best new find? I really like Le Jardin de Monsieur Li from Hermès. It’s such a fresh and crisp fragrance, but still has some nice depth, and is a great counterpoint to the Kiehl’s Musk that I end up wearing most often.

How many bottles are in your fragrance collection? I normally have anywhere from six to 10 bottles on my shelf, though I end up wearing only a few of them. There’s no particular strategy to my collecting; often the grouping is made up of the fragrances I’ve liked the best from the ones I’ve been sent at work for consideration. Beside liking the scent, I tend to be attracted to simpler, more classic-looking bottles, which helps them all look good grouped together.

What’s your signature spritz style? I’m all about the pulse points—easy to apply and the small quantity you end up using keeps you from over-applying. I’m always afraid I’ll accidentally put too much on and smell overpowering.
